Dwaleni Play Park
We’re proud to announce the completion of the Dwaleni Play Park - a project that strengthens our ongoing partnership with the Dwaleni community and provides children with safe, vibrant spaces to play and learn.

The initiative includes two parks: a smaller, welcoming park near the “Welcome to Dwaleni” sign, and a larger, central park located between the primary and secondary schools. Both areas were fitted with a variety of play features, while the larger park also received upgrades to the bus shelter, tuck shop, and surrounding rocks to bring colour and energy to the space.

This project was fully funded by KMIA through the donation of all materials, and brought to life by 10 dedicated local volunteers, guided daily by the airport’s community liaison.

Together, we’ve created a joyful, engaging environment that will benefit Dwaleni’s children for years to come.

KMIA's "Know Your Airport” Campaign
On 16 September, the University of Mpumalanga welcomed Mbongeni Mashigo (Head: Community Liaison) for the “Know Your Airport” engagement that lasted just over an hour. Mashigo addressed students on the operations of Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA), the aviation sector, and the critical role transport plays in boosting tourism and development across Mpumalanga. The session was well-received, with students showing strong interest and asking insightful questions throughout.

This campaign, which began earlier in the year, has reached a variety of institutions including high schools, youth centres, and TVET colleges. Each visit aims to raise awareness about aviation and transport, while inspiring young people to explore opportunities within the sector.

Interested schools can contact the airport to arrange visits to their premises.
